Telling lies to make peace


It is related by Umm Kulsoom (daughter of 'Uqba ibn Abu Mu'ayt), that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "He is not a liar or a sinnar who tries to make peace among people who are on bad terms with one
another, and, with that end, carries reports of goodwill and well-wishing from one party to the other and says good things (that may have a conciliatory effect)." (Bukhari and Muslim)
